Bek’s comment.
Courage
Courage is bravery in the face of adversity.
What a word! Doesn’t it just make you stand up on the inside when you hear that?
A situation seems near impossible, but if you find courage, with adult feet firmly planted and a child like faith, you jump, and it feels as though you can fly, like you can breathe under water. You are free from fear.
We all need courage.
Who and what gives you courage?
Surround yourself with books, art, music and people who encourage you, who believe in you, speak the best of you. People who tell the truth to your face even if it hurts, because those are the ones you can trust when they tell you to leap! Those are the ones who inject you with courage.
This song reminds me of the feeling you get when you find courage.
The song may not be directly about courage but I must say, it is evident that somewhere along her way ‘Emeli Sandé’ has found courage.
And to me, the feeling of what its like when you grit your teeth, go for it and you begin to soar, doing what couldn’t be done – ‘breathing underwater’ .
“Something like flying, hard to describe it. My God I’m breathing under water”
Listen to the song a couple of times and see what you think.
Happy listening,
Bek Gould
